The UK based Department for Education and Skills published figures to show the optimum classroom temperature. They found that high temperatures of 28 degrees centigrade or above can cause ‘heat stress and dehydration’. The article went on to explain that extremely low temperatures were just as detrimental to learning and stated that ‘18 degrees centigrade is a normal, desirable temperature for a classroom.
